The port of Oinousses is located a short distance from the island of Chios and very close to the Turkish coast. The port of Oinousses is located on the main island of the archipelago and is situated in a very beautiful natural harbor. In the past the port played an important role, today it offers connections to the island of Chios and with Piraeus. There was a growing need for connections to the mainland and the other islands, so they widened the port jetty to allow large ferries to enter.
