The port of Ibiza is located in the town of Eivissa, on the southeastern coast of the island. There are ferries and ships departing from here to Spain and the other Balearic islands. The town of Eivissa is surrounded by Renaissance walls and is a pleasant town to visit when using the port.
The port dates back to the twentieth century, in the last twenty years there have been many improvements and services added such as restaurants, bars and shops. In one area of the port, there is Botafoch marina with its lighthouse, this pier is for passengers, commercial activity and refuelling. Another area is designated for the mooring of private boats and has around 1400 moorings.
There are many buses to the port from the island, they leave every twenty minutes and take about 15 minutes to cover a distance of seven kilometres. From the port of Ibiza, there are connections to the island of Formentera, which takes about half an hour.
There is also a second port on Ibiza, called Sant Antoni de Portmany, on the western side of the island. It is a natural port with many beautiful beaches in the immediate vicinity. The port is less than twenty kilometers from the island's capital and is used for fishing, sailing and some commercial port activities. There are less than 300 mooring spaces and the marina offers all kinds of services.
To reach the port from Ibiza airport there are taxis which take around 20 minutes or buses that depart from the airport every half hour, which take 45 minutes to get to the port of Sant Antoni de Portmany.
