There are two passenger terminals in Gothenburg: Masthuggskajen, sailing to Denmark and the other called Tysklandsterminalen, sailing to Germany. Both ferry terminals lie on the River Gota, across from the city centre. Passenger facilities at the ferry terminals include a snack bar, a cafe and a comfortable passenger lounge. The terminal is accessible for wheelchair users, and there are also dedicated accessible toilets.
Getting to and from the passenger terminals
If you are travelling by car, the centre is easy to reach in around 8 minutes, and both ferry terminals are well signposted from Gothenburg city centre. Masthuggskajen is slightly closer to the city centre than Tysklandsterminalen. There are two car parks at Masthuggskajen terminal providing both short term and long term parking. At the east side of the terminal, there is a Stena Line car park with direct access to the terminal. The second parking area is called 'Koffen' and is located just across the terminal. Payment can be made in coins or with a credit card. There is one large car parking area at Tysklandsterminalen. It is a pay and display car park using coins only, and you can change up notes in the ferry terminal.
There are regular buses and trams from the terminals to the centre of Gothenburg from the stop Järnvågen; the journey only takes between 10 and 15 minutes. On foot, it takes around 25 minutes. To get to Tysklandsterminalen by foot use the footbridge near the harbour car park. If you are walking from the city side, you will find the bridge at the end of Havnegade Street.
The ferry terminal is around a 25-minute drive to Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport, and there are regular buses to the airport from the city centre. If you take a bus from the ferry terminal, change to the airport bus in the city centre and then take a bus to the airport, the journey should take around 50 minutes in total.
