The founder and principal financier of the company was a Danish man called Carl Frederik Tietgen. DFDS Seaways provides specially equipped cabins for passengers traveling with pets. Standard cabins are not available for these passengers, as a full cabin must be booked. Pets must remain in appropriate carriers or cages, and dogs are required to wear a muzzle. Pets are not allowed on passenger beds. It is also possible to leave dogs and cats in vehicles or campers for the duration of the crossing. At the crew’s discretion and if conditions allow, owners may be permitted to visit their pets in the garage deck during designated times.
