History
The first settlements in Sicily date back to ancient times and the Sicans, the Sicels and the Elimi civilizations. They followed colonization from the Phoenicians, Greeks and the Romans. Sicily remained under the control of the Roman Empire until it fell and was conquered by the Vandals, the Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Arabs and the Normans. The Normans established the Kingdom of Sicily, which was later conquered by the Aragonese, the Holy Roman Empire and the Bourbons, who transformed it into the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. It became part of Italy during the age of Garibaldi.

The baths of Bagnoli, Naxos, the villa of Patti in the province of Messina, the Addaura cave, caves of the Gurfa in the province of Palermo. Villa del Tellaro in the province of Syracuse. Finally, Cave di Cusa, Uzzo cave and Selinunte in the province of Trapani.
Sicily is just full of places to discover, a visit to Palermo with its breathtaking buildings, the cathedral, Norman Palace, Palatine Chapel and the Pretoria fountain. In Catania there is piazza duomo and O Liotru featuring an elephant, the symbol of the city. Messina and the east coast have beautiful seaside towns.
Beaches
Near Taormina the Isola Bella beach is great for snorkeling, it is easy to reach down a stone staircase and little path. In Realmonte, near Agrigento, the beach named Scala dei Turchi beach is named after the fact that over time, the coastline has formed in the shape of a staircase. On the west coast, near San Vito lo Capo, do not miss Cala della Disa and the Zingaro Reserve, an enchanting beach, with what look like Caribbean waters.
